Equality, diversity and inclusion
Ghyston is committed to creating a workforce that is diverse, promotes a positive attitude, and is inclusive of everyone. It is within our best interests to promote diversity and eliminate discrimination. We work to ensure all employees are given equal opportunities, and that everyone will be respected and valued.
Ghyston aims to create an environment free from discrimination and prejudice. This policy reinforces Ghyston’s commitment to providing equality and fairness amongst staff. We do not provide less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, gender reassignment or sex and sexual orientation (Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics). We are opposed to all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.
Ghyston will ensure that training, development and progression opportunities are available to all staff. When recruiting for new employees, or looking to promote staff, Ghyston will base these decisions on an individual’s own aptitude and ability, and how suitable they are for the role. The decisions made will not be affected by any of the protected characteristics mentioned above.
Ghyston will continuously work to create an environment where individual differences and contributions from all team members are recognised and valued. Ghyston encourages any employee who feels they have been subject to discrimination to raise their concerns. Ghyston will not tolerate any form of discrimination, and any employee who is found to be acting in this way will have disciplinary action taken against them.
If you feel you have been unfairly discriminated against, you should raise it with your line manager, or a director. All complaints will be investigated in accordance with our procedures. Any breaches of this policy will be dealt with in accordance to our disciplinary procedure, with serious cases potentially resulting in dismissal.
This policy will be monitored and reviewed annually, and changes made where appropriate.
